Focusing Mechanisms
Near objects: Ciliary muscles contract, suspensory ligaments loosen, lens becomes rounded and thick.
Distant objects: Ciliary muscles relax, suspensory ligaments tighten, lens becomes thin and flat.
Thicker lenses refract (bend) light more strongly.
