Speed from Distance-Time Graphs | GCSE Physics
Distance-time graphs represent the motion of an object over a journey.
What does a horizontal line on a distance-time graph mean?
What is Speed from Distance-Time Graphs | GCSE Physics?
"A graph showing how the distance travelled by an object varies with time."
What is the resultant force on an object if a 10N force acts right and a 4N force acts left?
Which of these is the correct vector equivalent of 'Distance'?
An object moves at a constant velocity. What is the resultant force?
What is the unit of the spring constant (k)?
Plotting Distance
The gradient (slope) of the line represents the speed.
A horizontal line means the object is stationary.
A straight diagonal line means constant speed.
A curved line means the speed is changing (acceleration).
Graph Math: To find speed from a curve, you must draw a TANGENT to the curve at that point and find its gradient.
